Embedded scents in text messages is believing thanks to Google Nose

Los Angeles, CA based text message marketing service provider, Cool Marketing Group is set to launch text-a-scent, a marketing feature geared toward restaurant owners looking to drive more sales and walk in traffic.

Say what?

Better known as Short Message Scents (SMS), the technology works with text messages on all mobile phones without the need to download an App.  Like any other well run text message marketing campaign, people must first opt-in before they can smell a fresh, warm buttery croissant coupon.

Digital scratch-n-sniff, Google Glasses, 3D printing of body parts, what is this world coming to?

Founder and CEO, Brandon Gompers told CNN’s Anderson Cooper “We jumped on the Google Nose Aromabase quickly and figured out how to embed delicious smells into our clients’ text message marketing campaigns”.  Cooper asked Gompers what Sprinkles cupcakes smell like via text message.  Gompers replied “Amazing Anderson, my iPhone screen smelled like red velvet for a few seconds; you would love it”.

Cool Marketing Group uses the just-released Google Nose developer’s API to embed scents such as double pepperoni cheese pizza into client text messages that opt-in subscribers receive…and smell.  Mobile marketing is about to get very interesting.  “We have already been embedding clickable links into text marketing messages which take a customer to a beautiful mobile landing page featuring photos of salads, pastas, pizzas and lattes.  Short Message Scents technology is quickly giving a whole new meaning to driving restaurant traffic and sales with text messages”, says Gompers.

It was rumored Groupon’s [ex] CEO Andrew Mason promised to bring an Aromabase feature to customer-starved restaurant merchants.  A $25 for $50 Groupon ad from an Italian restaurant that actually smells like amazing chicken parmesan?  Go figure!  Like many promises made, Mason’s vision of Aromabase will probably never see the light of day…or smell of money.

Gompers told the New York Times and Los Angeles Times, “Prospective and current Cool Marketing Group clients are booking more free consultation appointments than my schedule can handle”.   “My sales staff and I are inundated with phone calls and emails from restaurant owners wanting to use Short Message Scents in their text message marketing campaigns”.

The best way to see how our SMS marketing service work for businesses is to secure a scheduled consultation appointment here.  In addition to restaurants, Cool Marketing Group also provides bars, clubs, salons, real estate agents and online stores with creative, 100% done for you text message marketing consulting and services.

Gompers told Anderson Cooper via Skype, “Getting creative and helping clients make more money and retain customers with SMS marketing is what we love to do especially today…April Fool’s Day”.
